Kitti Ryan
Raised in northern Vermont, Kitti Ryan grew up surrounded by nature. After graduating from Castleton State College with a nursing degree, Kitti was introduced to painting by friend who had invited her to paint plein aire along the Connecticut River. This experience inspired Kitti to paint acrylic pastoral scenes of Vermont. Kitti's desire to learn more about visual arts lead her to begin studies at Dartmouth College and Vermont College where she obtain obtaining a B.A. in Fine Arts. Painting with watercolor and oils has been her focus for the last 30 years. She enjoys studying patterns in nature and exploring abstraction using bold, vibrant colors.
"Art is a combination of what the artist sees and how the mind translates it onto the canvas. It is about what the artist intends to portray and how the viewer interprets the work from their own experiences. Art strives to sharpen the mind to expand one's vision of the world."
